The 16" Tunable ASHWOOD Bodhran
The Ashwood 16" tunable bodhrán made from solid ash. It has a beautiful grain and comes in it's natural wood color. It is supplied with a T-bar for ease of access to the rear of the skin. It is also supplied with a beater, an alan key & an canvas gig bag. It is tuned with 6 nickel tuners using the allen key. Very good quality fine goat skin, the black tape on the skin deepens the tone giving it a deep base tone. A very high quality bodhrán for €80.

Here we have 3 very popular bodhrán beaters/tippers worth €10 each for only €20 for all three. All are made from steel rosewood. Steel rosewood is much more dense than rosewood and twice as heavy.

The short bulbus beater.
THe first is a pencil tipper fondly known as the Kerry tipper. This is weighted at the bottom end.It also has a black grip for ease of handling. The Kerry tipper is used for top end playing of the bodhrán.
Then we have the double ribbed weighted beater.It has two ribs at the top end of the stick making it easy to grip for top end playing while also the lower rib makes a suitable grip for double end playing. This tipper is weighted at both ends.
The third is the ribbed beater. This means that it is ribbed all the way down the stick. This is unique as it can be gripped anywhere along the beater. It is versatile in this way. It can be played top end bottom end side in fact anywhere along the beater you can grip.
