JAMES BEATLEY VIOLIN
Here we have a stunning fiddle made by James Beatley Luthier in 2008 after Antonius Stradiuarius 1707. The front is of Sitka Spruce of medium grain width and the two piece back of maple has open grain and is stamped under the button (JB DUBLIN). The medullary rays ascend from the centre joint. The Varnish is made with amber, sandarach and mastic resins in linseed oil. Is has ebony pegs and a first quality ebony fingerboard with an ebony chinrest and ultralite tailpiece. The body length is 355mm. It is valued at €4000, however here it is for sale for €2500.
